Sustained excellence

For the rank of professor, reputation and scholarship must be ‘sustained’. From the Provost policy on promotion and tenure, PROV-017, the expectations for advancement to the rank of professor are “Strong indications of a commitment …that will lead to sustained contributions over time and …that growth in stature will continue.”
