Description/Learning Objectives: From traffic routing to self-driving cars, Alexa to Siri, AI’s reach is extending into all areas of life, including healthcare. Join Kimberley to learn more about how AI is being used now, and will be used in the near future, to facilitate provider-patient communication, mine medical records, assess patients, predict illness, suggest treatments, and so much more.  (1 CME credit)

Bias in Healthcare: An Evidence-Based Overview

Description/Learning Objectives: Bias can be both conscious and unconscious and affects all areas of life including healthcare, with unfortunate (and sometimes deadly) consequences for patients. Join Kimberley for an evidence-based exploration of this topic which will include learning about biases in several different areas (sexual identity, physical weight, race, socioeconomic status, education, age, and disability), defining the scale of the problem, and how some in healthcare are working to combat bias and improve outcomes for patients. (1 CME credit)

By the end of this learning opportunity, participants will be able to define “personal branding;” list best practices for establishing their brand; explain strategies for effectively communicating their brand; describe ways to protect your digital assets; and become familiar with the idea of reputation management. (1 CME credit)
