 Departmental Action Plans

  1. Form departmental task force to review departmental mentorship policies and procedures and make recommendations for improvement
  2. Arrange formal, signed mentorship agreements for new and junior faculty with input for the selection of mentors from individual faculty
  3. Assess individual needs for better mentorship among junior and mid-level faculty through one-on-one meetings with the Vice Chair for Faculty Development
  4. Require formal documentation of mentorship received and mentorship needs in each faculty annual review
  5. Provide instruction on mentorship, advising, and sponsorship at a monthly faculty meeting
  6. Publicly emphasize mentorship through recognition of outstanding mentorship at an annual faculty meeting
  7. Create departmental mentoring committees for junior faculty
