The overall goal of the technology development program series is to provide faculty with training on library systems and technology that may be pertinent to their job duties in the clinical, research, and educational realms.

Some of our workshop topics include Introduction to Virtual Reality Headsets, Planning for your Digital Identity Beyond Life, Introduction to 360 Video with GoPros, Green Screen and Lighting, and Establishing your Personal Brand.

Description/Learning Objectives: You already know that establishing and maintaining your digital identity is important, but have you thought about what happens to it when you die? Just like life insurance, wills, and other important issues around death, the state of your digital identity is something for which you can plan. Join Kimberley to learn more about the practical steps that you can take to both preserve your digital legacy and ease the burden for friends and family. By the end of this learning opportunity, participants will be able to define “digital identity,” describe what can happen to your digital identity when you die; and list ways to incorporate your digital identity into your death-related planning. However, you may be unclear about the differences in VR headsets (Tethered? Untethered? Smartphone-based?). Join Kimberley to learn more about the different types of headsets, their capabilities, necessary peripherals, price ranges, etc. This presentation will be especially helpful for those who are planning to purchase a VR headset for their departmental or personal use. By the end of this learning opportunity, participants will be able to define “virtual reality:” describe the differences between several different VR headsets; and list the pros and cons of different VR headsets. Due to classroom size, this session is limited to 10 participants (1 CME credit)
